You know that saying; Self-love Sunday, yeah well I think it is total B.S. how about self-love every single day!!!! Self-love isn’t a selfish act even though it may have the word in it! But I want you to think about something; you know when you board a plane & they go over all the safety exists then they talk about if the masks fall make sure you put your own on first before assisting others….yeah thats not a selfish thing. In reality you are no good to anyone else if you don’t first take care of yourself.

Self check in

Especially right now it is the best time to do a lil self checkin; we hear constantly that we need to be hustling, we need to be investing in our business, or losing weight, we need to be doing all of these things. And while all of that might be true we need to realize YES it is a good time to do all of those things, but it is most important to find BALANCE right now! Part of balancing is learning how to do a lil self-check in! So you bet your butt lets do it! Think to yourself or write it down; what are three words to describe how you have been feeling this past week? Maybe you are overwhelmed, inspired, tired, stressed…. Take a second to be really mindful of your heart!

Mindfulness is a powerful thing; it allows to really look at things that are important and things that are unnecessary. So right now I want you to do a lil brain dump; you are going to write down every single thought and stress that you have had recently… they don’t have to be full sentences, just words or phrases that you understand what they mean. After that I want you to put these thoughts into two categories

Things you can control and Things we cannot control…

As you look at each of your thoughts notice that you may have more thoughts or stressor on the non-control side, or you might have more on the control side, but the ones on the non-control weigh more. For example; you can’t control the fact that you can’t make money right now because you were laid off. Something that you can’t control but lets be honest it weighs a lot.

Let go of the things you can’t control

Looking at your list I want you to let go of the things that you can’t control…We spend so much energy and time stressing and worrying over things that are not in our control. We then tend to feel unmotivated and uninspired…. So I am challenging you to take this time & find that balance in your life to understand we have these thoughts, and it is okay to feel them. But as we learn to let go replace it with something that gives us inner peace.

Remember to replace it with something that you actually enjoy doing! If working out doesn’t give you pleasure and peace then don’t replace it with that. Self love isn’t something that should be forced. Maybe its mediation, maybe its reading a book, or listening to music for 10 minutes.

Whatever it is you choose to do; remember balancing things that you need to do, let go of the things you can’t control, & embrace the activities that make you feel inner peace.
